Gaylen Nebeker, a freelance video assist operator, started Nebtek
Inc., in the mid 90s. Earlier to that Nebeker and his team were
providing services to Hollywood companies with their modified
camera remote heads along with video assist systems. Their LCD
monitor division was born in 1995 after a 5" monitor rigged
up with professional connectors stole the stage at the ShowBiz
Expo. Today, Nebtek makes the high resolution TFT/LCD monitors
and accessories for the professional cine and video camera operators
and directors. The brightness levels of Nebtek monitors allows
for images to be clearly seen in bright daylight and high ambient
light situations.
LCD-TFT
Monitors
Nebtek's
active matrix LCD/TFT monitors are high resolution products
and offer between 300 to 400 NIT brightness which permits
the user to view images in extremely bright conditions, even
with the optional non-glare protective front screen. The screen
resolutions are better than 2,20,000 pixels for the 5"
monitor and 3,36,000 pixels for the 7" monitor. There
are several models of PAL and NTSC (or both) systems available
in each of the four sizes for cine and HDV cameras: 5",
5.6" wide screen, 6.4" and the 7" wide screen
models. Though all Nebtek monitors can be readily powered
off the camera battery, they have optional battery mounts
(your choice) on the rear to individually power the monitor
without draining the camera battery-pack.
