Founded by Hans-Joachim Goedeck in 1947 close to Munich, Germany, initially a textile manufacturing facility, EWA-Marine has a long history of producing accessories for photo and film-cameras. In 1970, with the decline of the textile industry in Germany, the company started designing and manufacturing high quality flexible protective underwater housings and rain-hoods for still photo, cine and, since 1980, for amateur and professional video cameras. All EWA-Marine products are manufactured at their own facilities in Kirchheim, Bavaria. Each individual product is subjected to a series of stringent tests before they are allowed to leave the factory. EWA-Marine housings offer effective protection against sand, dust, rain and seawater and can be safely used in depth up to five meters underwater. Some professional models do go deeper.

Pro DVCams and Cine Camera Housings

EWA-Marine's still photograph camera housings are available for nearly every type of camera from any camera manufacturer - professional digital or film SLR cameras with any lens, with or without motor-drive, with or without a flash mounted, prosumer digital and film cameras and any point-and-shoot digital or film camera. The special sheeting used for the housings is moulded and welded by elaborate process. They are fitted with a front port made of neutral, high quality optical glass. Some models of the housings are waterproof up to a depth of fifty meters. These housings are very robust, despite their lightweight of approximately 500 grams, and will offer a long life of service.

Camcorder Housing

EWA-Marine camcorder underwater housings are made of high quality engineered plastics that are also UV protected. Whether an amateur wants to film beautiful coral fish or make an exciting film on a rafting or surfing trip, or a professional wants to shoot a video commercial in the swimming pool, there is always an EWA-Marine underwater housing available for every type of camcorder available in the market. Each housing is individually tested for use to a depth of 10m (33 feet). Remarkably light (500 grams) and still robust, they provide effective protection against sand, dust, rain, seawater, mud, humidity as well as all other adverse conditions. A one-year guarantee is offered on all housings.

EWA-Sport

EWA-Marine also manufactures handy pouches for documents, cell phones, walkie-talkie radio sets, wallets and other valuable and portables that sometime needs venture out into seashores and swimming pools along with their owners. EWA-Sport pouches are totally waterproof and come with a handy belt clip (for smaller phones) and a lanyard for easy carrying. They are UV and salt water resistant. With cell phones and radio sets, hearing and speaking is unhindered by the pouch, though there is a measured volume loss of mere 5% when the units are enclosed within the pouch. All accessory EWA-Sport pouches are made in the same factory and adhere to the same stringent quality standards as their camera and camcorder housings.
